TSA Chief Vows to Implement New Standard for Private Screeners Under FAA Bill
Homeland Security Today: The chief of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Tuesday declined to speculate on the affect of a provision in legislation reauthorizing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aimed at expanding opportunities for private screening companies at US airports.
TSA Administrator John Pistole issued an order in January 2011 to limit the Security Partnership Program (SPP) to US airports that could show a clear and substantial benefit for switching to private screeners instead of using TSA public screeners.
