U.S. plans to step up aid to Yemen if conditions are met
The Washington Post: The Obama administration is prepared to increase assistance to Yemen if its new government moves quickly to restructure its military forces, stem official corruption and implement electoral reforms, a senior U.S. official said Monday.
In conversations with Yemeni and opposition officials, the administration has made clear that “we plan to step up [aid] if they meet our test,” said John O. Brennan, President Obama’s top counterterrorism adviser.
