Trump contradicts Calif. gov, says feds won't fund National Guard deployment

The Hill: President Trump lashed out at California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Thursday, accusing Brown of sending his state's National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border "to do nothing" and insisting that the federal government would not pay for the deployment.

"Governor Jerry Brown announced he will deploy 'up to 400 National Guard Troops' to do nothing," Trump tweeted. "The crime rate in California is high enough, and the Federal Government will not be paying for Governor Brown’s charade. We need border security and action, not words!"
