Incoming oversight chair eyes Postal Service bankruptcy, cutting job protections

Federal Times: The government should be smaller, the Postal Service should go through a bankruptcy process and it is too hard to fire federal employees, according to Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican who will be the next chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Johnson, who moved to the head of the chairmanship line when Republicans took control of the Senate in the Nov. 4 midterm election, will replace current chair Tom Carper, (D-Del.), when the new Congress convenes in January.
