Panetta tries to explain
The Washington Post: Former defense secretary Leon Panetta tried Tuesday to answer the question all Washington is asking these days: Why did he write a book that skewers his former boss for, among other things, “letting [former Iraqi leader Nouri] al-Maliki slip away” and not getting an agreement to leave residual U.S. troops in Iraq, setting the stage for the Islamic State invasion?
