NY: A Vanadium Flow Battery Brings Energy Storage to New York City’s MTA

Greentech Media: After California, New York is the next big U.S. market for grid-scale energy storage, and much of that potential is packed into the 469 square miles of New York City. That urban grid is going to require its energy storage systems to shave peak load at buildings, help balance the grid at times of stress and congestion, and importantly, back up critical facilities in the event of another storm like 2012’s Superstorm Sandy.
