Pelosi reaffirms contraceptive-coverage stance in Texas A&M visit
Dallas Morning News: COLLEGE STATION — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was joined by former President George H.W. Bush on Monday night for a speech at Texas A&M University in which she reaffirmed her support of the contraception coverage mandate on potentially less-than-friendly turf.
The former House speaker was speaking at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at the invitation of Bush, who was president when she was elected to the House. The former president and his wife, Barbara, were in the front row of a packed auditorium. Texas A&M is known for its conservative leanings, while Pelosi has been a proponent of gay marriage, abortion rights, family planning services and strong environmental regulations.
