Gottlieb's legacy could be felt for years

Modern Healthcare: Dr. Scott Gottlieb accomplished a rare feat during his two-year tenure as head of the Food and Drug Administration—he earned praise from Republicans and Democrats alike.

Although he stepped down in April, stakeholders hope the former commissioner’s endeavors will live on and influence future agency heads. Couple that with his ability to still exert influence from his positions as a fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute and a special partner at venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates, and Modern Healthcare took the unprecedented step to put him atop the list of the 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives for a second consecutive year.
