How This State Is Using a 'Netflix Model' to Treat More People for Hepatitis C

Route Fifty: In June, officials in Louisiana unveiled a deal several years in the making: the state would partner with a pharmaceutical company to provide unlimited amounts of hepatitis C drugs to its prison and Medicaid populations over a five-year period.

Under the terms of the deal, Louisiana will pay roughly $60 million each year, approximately what the state spent on treatments for the infectious disease in the last fiscal year.
