MedPAC: Even Efficient Hospitals Can't Cover Costs with Medicare Reimbursement
Health Leaders: Hospitals have long complained that Medicare reimbursement rates are insufficient to cover the true cost of the care they provide.
That negative margin is now even afflicting hospitals that consistently deliver relatively high-quality care at relatively low costs, according to a report released Friday afternoon by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC).
