Healthcare Spending at 20% of GDP? That's an Economy-Wide Problem

Health Leaders: Continued growth in U.S. healthcare spending to care for an aging population is having a ripple effect across the economy, straining budgets and dampening growth in businesses and households, according to a new report from Moody's Investors Service.

"That has consequences for the U.S. economy as a whole," Moody's Assistant Vice President Rebecca Karnovitz says.
