Social Security's lack of mobile policy leaves critical weaknesses

Federal Times: A review of the use of mobile devices by Social Security Administration employees showed security weaknesses, largely due to the lack of a cohesive policy, according to a report from the Office of the Inspector General.

The IG found that the agency “did not always conform with federal standards and business best practices to mitigate unauthorized access to the agency’s sensitive information,” a critical weakness as mobile utility becomes more prevalent.
