President Obama continues to preview his State of the Union address this week, with an emphasis on cybersecurity, identity theft, and high-speed broadband.

A three-day series of events will focus on "protecting American consumers and families, securing the nation's businesses and infrastructure in cyberspace, and increasing broadband access," says the White House schedule.

Legislative proposals and executive actions on these topics will be included in Obama's State of the Union speech on Jan. 20, the White House says.

Last week, Obama outlined various manufacturing, housing, and education plans during trips to Michigan, Arizona, and Tennessee.

This week's schedule includes:

- A Monday visit to the Federal Trade Commission in which Obama will discuss plans to block identity theft and improve consumer and student privacy.

- A Tuesday meeting between Obama and members of the congressional leadership. Also that day, Obama will travel to the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center to discuss its work to protect Internet communications.

- A Wednesday trip to Iowa in which Obama will propose ways to "increase access to affordable, high-speed broadband across the country," according to the White House.
