MO: New Nuclear Technology May Debut in Missouri

Governing: Callaway County, Mo., could be home to a new generation of Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMR) if a plan with broad support from the Missouri energy community gets funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy.

Just northeast of state capital Jefferson City, Callaway County has been home to a nuclear power plant since 1984. The existing plant is operated by energy company Ameren Missouri.
