KY: Kentucky bill for charter schools stalls
Courier Journal: FRANKFORT, KY. — The House Education Committee will not vote on a controversial charter schools bill this session, but the measure’s lead sponsor says alternative proposals could still win support from lawmakers.
The committee heard two hours of testimony Tuesday from proponents and critics of charter schools, which — under House Bill 77 — would receive taxpayer funding while being exempt from certain regulations that govern public schools.
