Multiple Idaho Agency Websites Are Now Mobile-Friendly

Idaho agencies leverage Access Idaho to modernize websites and improve accessibility

BOISE, Idaho--()--The administrator of Idaho’s official Web portal (Idaho.gov) and provider of electronic government solutions for the state, Access Idaho, is working with agency webmasters, at no cost, to update their websites by providing customizable templates and tools compatible with mobile devices.

Two of the first state entities that leveraged Access Idaho’s WordPress toolkit have launched sites this year: the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security and the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Action Center.

One of the state’s biggest agencies, the Idaho Transportation Department, is in the process of revamping its website with the help of Access Idaho’s expertise.

“Access Idaho helped us go from no website to an attractive, mobile-friendly one in less than a month,” said Angela Hemingway, Idaho STEM Action Center Executive Director. “And the steps to update our site are extraordinarily quick and easy.”

About 58 percent of Idaho citizens are using mobile devices as their primary or only access to the Internet. Because of this, agencies are increasingly needing to provide mobile-friendly access. The Idaho Office of the CIO is encouraging state agencies to take advantage of Access Idaho’s templates and development resources.

The partnership between state agencies and Access Idaho operates under a self-funded model, in which no tax dollars were used to develop and none are necessary to maintain services.
