Obama's day: Back to the minimum wage
David Jackson
USA TODAY
Back from his week-long trip to Asia, President Obama returns Wednesday to one of his major domestic projects: Raising the minimum wage.
Obama is scheduled to make mid-afternoon remarks at the White House on his call to gradually increase the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 per hour.
But the speech will likely come after a Senate defeat on that plan.
Senate Republicans are expected to block the proposed minimum wage hike, saying it would discourage employers from hiring more people.
