Lawmakers React to Mismanagement of New DHS Headquarters to Tune of $1 Billion

Homeland Security Today: Mismanagement of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) long-term project to construct a new consolidated headquarters at St. Elizabeths is over budget and schedule by $1 billion and 10 years, a new government audit disclosed.

The findings of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) audit were disclosed at a hearing last week convened by Rep. Jeff Duncan, (R-SC), chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight and Management Efficiency.
