New Net Neutrality Rules Still Leave Some Questions Unanswered
The Wall Street Journal (online registration required): The least settled issue in the government’s new net neutrality rules is the one that put the debate back on the front burner in the first place—how much carriers like Verizon Communications Inc. can charge companies like Netflix Inc. to connect with their networks.
Last year, Netflix picked a high profile fight with Verizon, AT&T Inc. and Comcast Corp. , accusing them of slowing delivery of its movies and TV shows to gain leverage in a pricing dispute. The unusual public airing of private business disputes helped rally support for tougher regulations that culminated in rules the Federal Communications Commission will vote on Thursday.
