Senator calls on VA, FCC to bolster broadband for veterans
Government Health IT: Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) has publicly asked the Federal Communications to expand its Lifeline Program, which currently provides mobile and landline phone service subsidies to low income households.
Blumenthal suggested that FCC ratchet the program up to include broadband service and said the FCC and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to should work together to ensure veterans have access to the program.
