Colorado Could Strengthen Aid-in-Dying Movement

Governing: When Colorado state Rep. Joann Ginal was on the campaign trail in 2012, she was taken aback by a particular issue that kept coming up with her constituents: the right to die.

For Ginal, the issue is personal. She watched her late brother battle a terminal illness for years.

“If my dear brother had an option to take medication that would have ended his suffering, I don’t know if he would have done it. But I wished he had that option,” she said.
