Primary Care Represents Less Than 5% of Medicare Spending

Health Leaders: Primary care services make up a small percentage of spending by Medicare beneficiaries, ranging between just over 2% to nearly 5%, according to a new RAND study released Monday.

The study analyzed spending by 16 million Medicare beneficiaries with fee-for-service coverage under Parts A and B, along with Part D prescription coverage, during 2015.
