Stefanik bill calls for commission to study AI's national security benefits

FedScoop: A new bill from Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., would create a commission to study artificial intelligence’s impact in the U.S. and its effect on national security.

The chairwoman of the House armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities introduced the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence Act of 2018 Wednesday, proposing an independent commission to examine AI advances on a national level and provide the president and Congress recommendations on how to apply the technology to the federal government.
