RALEIGH, N.C. – July 13, 2015 – i360Gov, a network of media properties providing news and analysis regarding government business, policy and technology strategy and initiatives, today released new results from a survey of federal government executives about application program management. The resulting report, “Application Portfolio Management Survey Underscores Need for Greater Awareness,” highlights how little some federal agencies know about the applications in their systems.
The report, part of i360Gov’s Proof Points series of technology government surveys, uncovers some surprising results:
The survey, conducted in May 2015, included 112 federal government respondents. 70% were from the civilian agencies, 21% were from military departments, and 10% were from intelligence agencies.
“Understanding how your application portfolio functions is a critical first step in optimizing its performance and making sure it meets your agency’s needs,” said Jon Morton, i360Gov’s publisher. “Knowledge of your portfolio helps an agency lower costs, mitigate risks, and plan for the future.”
