Three Mile Island's closure haunts Pennsylvania's nuclear debate

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Inside cooling towers for the Three Mile Island nuclear plant’s sole working reactor, warm water is released in droplets that whisper when the wind blows through the open air supports.

The nuclear plant has two cooling towers for each of its two reactors — instead of one very tall one, as is common — because of height restrictions related to its namesake proximity to the Harrisburg airport, three miles north.
