What's Next for the House-Passed Internet of Things Security Bill

Route Fifty: Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., is hoping to expedite a bill through the Senate that would require certain internet-connected devices purchased by the government to meet minimum security requirements.

“We’re hoping to get the bill hotlined,” Warner, the bill’s sponsor, said on a call with reporters Tuesday. He said the goal is to get it passed through the Senate by unanimous consent.
