MN: Governor Dayton’s Supplemental Budget proposal includes $100 million in broadband grant funding
MHTA: MHTA — Governor Mark Dayton and Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith unveiled their supplemental budget proposal, which includes $100 million in funding for the the Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program.
Over the last two years, the legislature and governor have allocated over $30 million to the program, leveraging more than $41 million in private investment. The state currently has a $900 million budget surplus.
Margaret Anderson Kelliher, President & CEO of the Minnesota High Tech Association and chair of the Governor’s Task Force on Broadband, released a statement on the broadband funding in Governor’s Dayton’s proposed supplemental budget.
