Ashton Carter Sworn In as Secretary of Defense

The New York Times: WASHINGTON — Ashton B. Carter was sworn in Tuesday as the 25th secretary of defense — and the fourth to serve the Obama administration — taking the oath of office in a small White House ceremony where Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. called him “a thinker and a doer.”
