Virginia college students take first-place honors at wind turbine design contest

Energy News Network: Officially, the James Madison University students seeking college’s most-coveted wind farm prize dubbed themselves the Rolling Hills Energy Development LLC. But their nickname could well be “Undeterred.”

The 21-member team earned first-place honors at this year’s U.S. Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition despite having to pivot to a virtual format in March when the coronavirus put the Harrisonburg, Virginia, campus on lockdown.
