OR: Google Fiber or not, Hillsboro to study building a municipal fiber network
Hillsboro Tribune: It’s a bold move, especially in the wake of Google Fiber’s Jan. 27 decision not to expand its services in the Portland metropolitan area for now: the city of Hillsboro is launching a feasibility study to assess the costs, benefits and opportunities of installing a city-owned broadband fiber network to serve its residents and businesses.
