Nearly 59,000 bridges in U.S. are structurally deficient

The Washington Post: There are about 2,500 fewer decrepit bridges in the United States than there were a year ago. Still, nearly 59,000 bridges are officially classified as structurally deficient.

That’s according to an analysis of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s 2015 bridge inventory database done by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).
