Cities Must Change the Way They Manage Crises

Route Fifty: Many school districts and smaller cities remain unprepared for emergencies, ranging from cyberattacks to earthquakes, because of their failure to coordinate with their county and state governments, according to crisis management expert Steve Goldman.

Goldman is in his ninth year of teaching a Crisis Management and Business Continuity course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he encourages companies and first responders alike to work more closely with government partners.
