Optimizing Infrastructure: Job No. 1 in Arkansas
Government Technology: Arkansas CIO Yessica Jones is anticipating several benefits from optimizing the state's data center infrastructure. Kicking off the large and complex effort is the biggest item on her to-do list this year, she told Government Technology at the National Association of Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) Midyear conference earlier this week.
Jones detailed the scope of the project, which comes on the heels of an assessment conducted by Gartner in August 2017. As a result, the state is on the hunt for a co-location facility, as well as opportunities to take advantage of cloud technology. Network upgrades will also be needed to power the new setup.
