New Analytic Tool Could Predict Leadership Changes in Terrorist, Criminal Networks

Homeland Security Today: A University of Maryland (UMD) research team has developed an analytics tool they call STONE (Shaping Terrorist Organizational Network Efficacy) that could allow “US intelligence analysts … to help predict who might rise to the top of a terrorist or criminal network, and whether the redefined organization has an increased ability to carry out its activities,” according to an announcement by the researchers.
