OIG: DHS Information Security Program for Intelligence Systems is Not Effective

Homeland Security Today: DHS needs to improve continuous monitoring for its intelligence system, according to a newly released summary of a classified report from the Inspector General.

According to the summary, the auditor determined the agency’s  continuous monitoring tools for its intelligence system are not interoperable and it  has not documented procedures, established formal training, and instituted qualitative and quantitative measures for continuous monitoring of its intelligence systems.

The OIG also found that  the United States Secret Service (USSS) has not developed a process to ensure its employees and
contractors complete the required annual security awareness training.
