Defense News: Will Roper took the job of assistant secretary of the U.S. Air Force for acquisition, technology and logistics in February, but he’s likely better known for his prior gig as head of the Pentagon’s Strategic Capabilities Office.

As the first-ever director of the new SCO, Roper drew attention for projects that used off-the-shelf tech to prototype new capabilities like swarming drones.
