Answers Sought on Cost Overruns, Delays in Border Security IT Systems
Homeland Security Today: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) occasionally has been humbled by its pursuit of useful innovations in information technology by misjudging the needs of the users of those projects.
In a congressional hearing Tuesday, Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.) raised the specter for the DHS virtual fence project known as the Secure Border Initiative Network (SBInet), which the department pulled the plug on in January 2011.
