Senate Panel Confronts Backlog of Chemical Facility Security Plans

Homeland Security Today: In order to reduce the backlog of chemical facility security plans, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has taken actions to lessen the time it takes to review a company’s plans. An April 2013 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report estimated it would take seven to nine years to complete the reviews of the approximately 3,120 chemical plans in its queue.
