NIH names new director of General Medical Sciences

Government Health IT: The National Institutes of Health has named a new director to its Institute of General Medical Sciences.

John Hopkins University biochemistry professor Jon Lorsch will take the helms of the institute this summer, managing a $2.4 billion budget funding basic science and biomedical research in areas such as biophysics, genetics, developmental biology, pharmacology, bioinformatics and computational biology.
