CMS extends enrollment deadline for consumers who are asked to leave a message
Healthcare Finance: The highest traffic volume of this year's open lagging enrollment season was on Monday, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Open enrollment ends Saturday, December 15, with coverage beginning on January 1, 2019.
As in past years, CMS has seen an uptick in the volume of consumers using Healthcare.gov and contacting the call center as the end of open enrollment nears. The agency is allowing those who are asked to leave a leave a message with the marketplace call center to enroll in a plan after the December 15 deadline.
