FCC looks to new rules to strengthen 9-1-1 systems resiliency in disasters
Government Security News: Citing a new report that found the widespread, prolonged 9-1-1 system outages after the unprecedented derecho storm last summer were due to inadequate preparations by telephone companies, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission moved to strengthen his agency’s rules for the systems’ reliability and resiliency.
