Obamacare registration low in states with large uninsured populations

American City & County: According to data released last week by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), more than 106,000 Americans (just 20 percent of the anticipated enrollment) selected plans during the new health insurance marketplace’s first reporting period of open enrollment. Only a small percentage of enrollees came from states relying on the federal exchange – states with the highest numbers of uninsured residents.
