NY: Charter schools seek equity

Times Union: A coalition of charter schools is suing the state, claiming they have been underfunded compared to the mainstream public schools, with the result being that their students are denied a constitutionally guaranteed "sound basic education."

If that term sounds familiar, it's because it was used almost two decades ago when the Campaign for Fiscal Equity went to court contending that New York City schools were being shortchanged by state funding formulas.
